Jia-wei Zheng, MD, PhD

Prof. Jia-wei Zheng was born in May 1964 at Boshan county, Zibo city, Shandong province. He is currently Vice Dean, Professor of College of Stomatology (Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital), Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, supervisor for Master degree and Doctorate degree postgraduates.

Prof. Jia-wei Zheng graduated from Shanghai Second Medical University in July 1999 with Doctorate degree on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery under the supervision of Prof. Wei-liu Qiu, Member of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE). He is majoring in intervention and research of oral and maxillofacial neoplasms, especially hemangiomas and vascular anomalies. He had authored and co-authored 332 peer reviewed papers, comments and letters since 1986 both nationally and internationally. Among them, 89 were cited by SCI and many were indexed by IM and MEDLINE. The most important works are the formulation of “treatment guideline for hemangiomas and vascular malformations of the head and neck” published in Head Neck, 2010, 32(8):1088-1098, and “treatment guidelines of lymphatic malformations of the head and neck” published in Oral Oncol,2011,47 (12):1105-1109.

He had published 4 monographs as Editor-in-Chief (including one written in English), 2 books as associate Editor-in-Chief, and 23 books as chapter writer. He had won 2 National Science and Technology Advancement Awards. He is now the program leader and principal investigator (PI) of 6 grants from National Natural Science Foundation of China (NNSFC).

Prof. Jia-wei Zheng is now Fellow of International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (IAOMS), Active Member of International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies (ISSVA), Fellowship of International College of Dentists (ICD), Member of Chinese Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (CSOMS), Chinese Stomatological Association (CSA), vice director of Division of Vascular Anomalies, CSOMS, CSA. He is an Editorial Board Member of Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (USA), Chinese Medical Journal (China), Head and Neck Oncology (United Kingdom), World Journal of Stomatology and Asian Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Reviewer of Laryngoscope, Oral Oncology, Head and Neck, International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Journal of Dental Education, etc. He is now Editor-in-Chief of China Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Executive Editor-in-Chief of Shanghai Journal of Stomatology indexed by IM and MEDLINE, Editorial Board Member of Chinese Journal of Dental Research and Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery published by Tongji University in Chinese, Member of National Proposition Committee for Qualification of Resident and Attending Doctors, and Grant Reviewer of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NNSF). His major clinical interests are focusing on diagnosis and intervention of oral and maxillofacial hemangiomas and vascular anomalies. He has been invited as keynote speaker and coordinator at international conferences for more than 10 times.
