We value the comments made by Dr. Tamer in response to our published article “Surgical management of maxillary transverse discrepancies in the orthognathic patient: a narrative review” (1).

We sincerely thank Dr. Tamer for his interest in our article and for taking the time to respond to it (2). We agree with all the comments made by Dr. Tamer, in particular, the need for more prospective clinical research in this area.
